Language Arts Department

The goal of the Hempfield Area English Department is to help students build a foundation for a lifetime of literacy and learning. We want Hempfield students to be able to read, write, and speak at all levels of competence sufficient for modern society’s needs and consistent with the school’s general philosophy. In addition, we want them to be able to effectively communicate when they become adults and community leaders. 

We recognize and embrace our roles as educators and mentors, and celebrate the long, rich history of a building, a faculty, and a department dedicated to their craft.
